Panel Management SystemThe Panel Management System (PMS) is a web-based application to manage an online survey panel. Information about respondents are stored in its database, included information about addresses, housemates, and other information that may be required by various studies. The PMS provides a powerful, easy-to-use interface for panel managers. The PMS manages communication between panel managers and respondents, including invitations to complete questionnaires, reminder emails, support issues, payment. The PMS can also generate letters and SMS messages for communication via alternate methods. The PMS is also extendable, especially for innovative studies. For example, new functionality was added for the LISS weight-scale project, to track equipment, collect weight measurements over the Internet, and provide graphs/data to respondents. All data for the PMS is stored in a database, and is easily scalable to millions of records. Respondent answers to questionnaires are stored in a separate database. All data is secured to ensure respondent privacy. |
