C3BC3B combines the robustness of the computer assisted interviewing (CAI) package Blaise and the possibilities offered by modern web applications to create interactive, multimedia questions. C3B is an addon mechanism for BlaiseIS, the web questionnaire engine of the Blaise suite. When C3B is installed, questionnaire programmers and web programmers can independantly work on a joined project to create an interactive web questionnaire. The results of such a project is a questionnaire that contains special questions as: - Special user interface questions (like sliders, pinpoint on maps, games)
- Questions that use external web sources (like data from a webservice)
- Questions on external websites
With C3B it is also possible to give realtime feedback to respondents. Example of a C3B special question C3B is a mediator between Blaise and different web environments, which creates the advantage that questionnaire developers do not need any web development knowledge and web developers do not need any Blaise knowledge. Web developers are even free to use any development environment or programming language (like PHP, .NET, ASP and JAVA). Also reusing previously designed C3B questions is easy.
